About Sinclair Photography:

Photography has been my passion for over 30 years. Initially scenery and abstract images dominated my photographs, as you will notice when viewing my stock photography. After leaving a camera store I had managed for about 9 years I decided I was the one who was going to be taking the pictures. Problem was I didn't know what kind of photography I was planning to do.

I moved back to the Greater Cincinnati area in '94 and was lucky to meet a man who has been my mentor ever since. Though I knew quite a bit about photography, he knew even more. He helped me through the ins and outs of my first wedding and I've been building my clientele and my business ever since. I had been working for another photography company for the past five years, going to homes and photographing newborns and children, but left them since my own business was getting so busy.

I still photograph babies and children but now I am able to spend a little more time perfecting what I want. The reason I say a little more is that no child will put up with anyone much less a photographer for very long. A newborn's curious eyes, a six-month-olds " happy feet", a one year old on the run, a terrible two's new found independence, I love to photograph them all. Capturing their personalities, not just their smiles, makes for some of the most cherished portraits. You can view some of these under my Children's Portraits button.

In family and group portraiture, I like to show closeness and camaraderie, arms around each other, holding hands, hugs, even kissing where applicable. Of course, some boys may not be into that so I'll do a tuff kid pose to soften them up. As with any of my shoots, if you want to do some outside I'm always willing wherever possible. Also, anything I photograph can be printed later in black and white.

Weddings keep me busy on the weekends. I try to go to the rehearsals on Friday nights. If that's not possible, I'll meet with the couple at the church prior to the wedding. It is important to me that I not only get the traditional posed portraits but also candid and fun planned or unplanned photos. It is the bride and groom's day. It is time for them to let go of the stress that has built up to this day and just have fun! I strive to help them do that while still maintaining enough control to give them much-cherished wedding portraits.
