Do
you go on location?
Yes, I find it easier to go to the customer's
home when I am photographing small children. The children
seem more relaxed and we can change outfits easily
if necessary. This way we can also incorporate some
of the child's own things. With high school seniors
I like to do some portraits in my studio and then
do some outside. If there is a special place the senior
wants to do the shoot, there will be an additional
charge. With families, I also love to do some of the
portraits outside and some in the studio. The size
of the family and the cooperation of the weather are
factors in this decision.
Do
you do Black & White portraits?
Yes! I will need to know if you want your session
in black and white or in color or both. If I am shooting
color, the color portraits can also be printed in
black and white. They do take longer and cost more
but come out beautiful! With black and white film
the portraits can also be printed in a sepia tone
color. This has become very popular.
Do
you allow pets in the portraits?
Yes, as long as the pet is easy going with strangers.
Pets are part of the family and so should be incorporated
in some of the portraits. If the pet belongs to a
particular person, I like to get a portrait with that
person as opposed to the pet by itself. I will do
the pet by itself if possible but the owner should
be prepared to be in the portrait if necessary.
How
many outfit changes can there be during a session?
I prefer no more than two changes for babies.
In between the two we can do some bare chest ones.
This gives the parents three different looks and that
is usually all a baby will put up with. Two usually
works best for all other sittings except high school
seniors. Most high school seniors would prefer three
outfit changes or more.
